The Senior Product Quality Engineer will provide dedicated quality engineering support for top‑level products manufactured at the Cedar Rapids production site. Operating within an AS9100-certified environment, this role ensures that manufacturing processes consistently meet the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) while driving continuous improvement in product quality, efficiency, and production output. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of leading root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives and ensuring compliance throughout the production lifecycle.

This is an onsite role in Cedar Rapids and is eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the quality engineering focal for assigned production areas and top-level products.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements, internal QMS procedures, and regulatory/contractual quality standards.
• Provide oversight of manufacturing processes, including process controls, in‑process inspections, verification/validation activities, and production readiness.
• Lead and facilitate RCCA activities in collaboration with production teams, engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze production performance data to identify trends, quality risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing process efficiency, reducing defects, and improving overall product quality.
• Support nonconformance investigations, material review board (MRB) activity, and disposition recommendations.
• Review and approve quality-related documentation, including manufacturing work instructions, quality plans, inspection criteria, and change notices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production operators, inspectors, and manufacturing leadership.
• Participate in internal and external audits, supporting corrective action development and closure.
• Drive proactive quality measures to support production output goals while maintaining product integrity and compliance.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of quality experience within manufacturing or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of quality experience within manufacturing
• Experience with RCCA methodologies such as 5-Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, or similar.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Experience supporting electronics, avionics, or complex mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, statistical analysis, and process capability tools.
• Proficiency with SAP, or similar quality/ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Tools.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
