Looking Glass is Hiring a Medical Assistant to Join Our Regional Crisis Center!
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Medical Assistant provides a variety of nursing and medical case management services to youth in a psychiatric residential treatment/subacute facility. The MA provides direct care, supervision, and behavior interventions to clients on assigned shifts. The position operates within established guidelines and/or legal requirements, this position description, Licensing, professional standards of medical practices, and Looking Glass policy.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in working with at-risk populations. An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Availability: 8:00AM - 4:00PM Monday - Friday
Certifications/Licenses: Must be a Medical Assistant, licensed to provide services in Oregon.

- Wage: $34/hour

- Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual rate starts at 0.1039 hours/hour worked, which is ~18.01 hours per month, equivalent to 5.4 weeks/year in the first year of employment.
- PTO accrual rate increases with tenure at the agency.
- Paid in-depth training to ensure a successful transition into the agency and position.
Program Overview
Looking Glass Regional Crisis Center provides residential, subacute mental health treatment services for youth of all genders, ages 12 to 18. The length of stay for youth can vary based on clinical need and treatment progress. Upon successful completion of the program youth will discharge to a community based setting.

IMPORTANT - WORK ENVIRONMENT NOTICE: This position provides on-site support, which delivers residential and crisis-based services to youth experiencing behavioral or mental health crises. Employees in this role should expect to work in an environment where clients may, at times, display escalated, unpredictable, or aggressive behavior, including physical aggression. Staff are expected to follow agency safety and de-escalation protocols, maintain situational awareness, and coordinate closely with clinical and other direct-care staff, particularly during crisis situations.
In compliance with applicable laws and licensing requirements, Looking Glass Human Resources Department conducts a background check on all new employees, non-paid staff (volunteers and interns), and existing staff as required. This is completed by the Background Check Unit with the State of Oregon per the Oregon Administrative Rules.
