Description
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Performs a wide variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance activities (e.g., carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Maintain exterior grounds such as: salting/sanding, landscape maintenance, moving of goals and other equipment.
- Event set-up/break-down. Move and set up tables, chairs, risers, and other furniture for special meetings, rentals, and events throughout the year.
- Assist with weather-related cleanup such as leaf blowing, snow removal, salt/sanding, etc.
- Maintain safe and clear grounds for residents and renters, prioritizing high-traffic areas, particularly during winter months and conditions.
- Communicate effectively with the Auxiliary Program Director and weekend renters in the event of weather-related or emergency campus closures.
- General work assignments: Hang pictures and bulletin boards, replace light bulbs, fill soap and paper towel dispensers, etc.
- Transport deliveries (including boxes and other packages and equipment) to faculty and staff throughout the campus.
- Build and repair furniture such as chairs, tables, and bookshelves.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Occasionally, be a presence at the Gate House and manage visitors/traffic as needed.
- Transport a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures and be mindful of the use of handling hazardous materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or a member of the Administration.
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch and bend frequently. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with adults and children on campus.
- Be comfortable using small power tools and landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of general carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing a plus.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation to ensure consistent, punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts, including during inclement weather.
- Valid driver’s license and required.
- This is a permanent, part time position ranging from $19-23/hour (based on experience).
- Eligible for two weeks vacation.
- Hours are Wednesday through Friday 6:30pm-9:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays 8:00am-4:00pm.
- Position start date is January 4th with paid training starting December 14, 2026.
- This position reports to the Director of Facilities and works closely with the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
