Job Description

As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entrance Authorization in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a government juvenile services location. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, maintain accurate visitor and badge records, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including perimeter access points, while reporting unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required records related to visitor activity, access-control concerns, incidents, and shift operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
