Job Description

Job Title:         Materials Coordinator

Reports To:     Supply Chain Ops Manager

Department:   Materials

 

 

SUMMARY

Continuously improve the facility’s production planning, inventory control, customer service, and logistics.  Provide support to Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse Departments in order to safely provide high quality containers in greater numbers at a superior level of service to the customer. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs production planning on a daily basis and weekly scheduling to maximize equipment efficiencies-under the following constraints; energy, warehouse space, and obsolescence.
  • Enter sales orders and subsequent changes to guarantee the delivery of customer requirements.
  • Raw material procurement required by the production department to manufacture quality containers efficiently.
  • Communicate directly with customers to satisfy product quantity and timing, information or planning requirements, product inquiries, and materials specifications.
  • Provide assistance and guidance with inventory control through cycle counting, production scheduling, and warehousing.
  • Performs regular monitoring and verification of ERP data base to provide optimum use and accurate reporting. Partners with Maintenance for system accuracy of production assets to meet customer requirements.
  • Carrier interactions with scheduling domestic and international shipments in accordance with the Corporate Routing Guidelines.
  • MTP (Multi-Trip Packaging)-coordinate supply of material/customer returns with in supply chain to support production requirements and any planned inventory builds, assist in customer audits as needed with Cycle Counter.
  •  Partner with quality to assist in the process CINS/VINS as required.
  • Assist with compliance of all company policies including continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, management, or business is preferred. Combined education and experience may be considered, depending on experience and qualifications.

 

LANGUAGE

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.  Require the ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Effectively present information and respond in group environments.

 

COMPUTER/MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP or equivalent ERP system.  Ability to work with intermediate mathematical concepts is required; probability and statics a plus.
