Engineer Aeronautical 3 (Project Engineer – Solid Rocket Motors)

Our client is a major aerospace and defense manufacturer looking for hands-on engineering talent for solid rocket motor (SRM) programs. 

Role: Engineer Aeronautical 3 (Project Engineer – Solid Rocket Motors)

Positions: 5

Location: Elkton, MD 21921 (onsite)

Duration: 10/31/2026 – 10/30/2027 (12 months)

What the role involves:

- Project engineering on solid-propellant rocket motor programs (launch vehicles, missiles, space)

- Designing SRM assemblies/components and running performance and sizing calculations

- Producing detailed fabrication drawings and supporting analysis and test validation

- Working with customers and multi-disciplinary engineering teams

Must-haves (non-negotiable):

- US Citizen

- Able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

- Bachelor's in a STEM field + 2 years relevant experience (or Master's + 3 years, or PhD + 1 year)

- Background in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering

Strong pluses:

- Active DoD Secret Clearance

- Experience with rocketry, solid rocket motors, propulsion, missiles, flight vehicles, or energetics

- Siemens NX and Teamcenter (CAD/PLM)

- GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009), DFA/DFM
