BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of finance related processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff.
To support effective delivery of finance, budget and administration support services in order to facilitate transparent and efficient utilization of financial resources.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the overall guidance of Head of Finance and Resource Management and the direct supervision of Senior Finance Associate the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Monitor monthly expenditure forecasts and provide expenditure reports in order to facilitate informed decision-making.
2. Process domestic Trip Advances, Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and settlement of domestic air ticket Invoices.
3. Monitor the Imprest bank and petty cash accounts regularly, to ensure that adequate funds are available and appropriately disbursed.
4. Verify all Non-food Items (NFI) vendor claims, advances and other receivables and observe appropriate procurement procedures, to ensure that suppliers are paid in a timely manner and in conformance with WFP finance rules and regulations.
5. Process all payments in ServiceNow through Global Payments Solution (GPS).
6. Perform Invoice Tracking System (ITS) management such as uploading invoices, assigning to respective Spending Units, following up for invalid invoices, resolving rejected invoices.
7. Assist in compiling information from various sources in order to prepare reports relating to budgets, accounting, finance and statistics.
8. Retrieve, format and validate information obtained from various financial information systems and bring any discrepancy or inaccuracy to the attention of the supervisor and follow up corrective actions.
9. Take a lead in documentation; filing, archiving and disposal of Financial documents.
10. Create Journal Vouchers (JV) for adjustment entries, fund returns and other related functions in WFP Information Network and Global Systems (WINGS).
11. Monitor and record all expenses in line with the approved budget in order to ensure that correct expenditure costs are charged and payments to external suppliers, cash grants and other supplier invoices are processed in a timely manner.
12. Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area and university degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related area is desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in finance.
Strong focus on accuracy and consistency, while processing large volume of transactions.
Working knowledge of ERP systems and preferably SAP Software is desirable.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
Experience of working in emergency setting is added advantage.
Languages:
Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali languages.
