This is a role within the Asset Liability Management team under the Group Risk Management division. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the management of the Bank’s balance sheet structure, interest rate and liquidity requirements, through the measurement, management and analysis of asset liability risks.
How You Succeed
To excel in this role, you should have the experience and solid understanding of concepts and regulatory standards involving asset liability risk. These could be in the areas of interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) or structural foreign exchange (SFX) risk management. You should have a good control mindset, be comfortable working with handling data and systems, and have the ability to present risk and balance sheet information into clear, concise insights for senior management and committees. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
What You Do
Generation and review of ALM risk reports for management and regulatory reporting, with opportunity to lead and mentor a small team responsible for risk reporting and analytics
Analyse ALM risk exposures to determine trends and the basis of variances in exposures
Contribute to stress testing as part of enterprise-wide and thematic stress tests
Review and assess new product proposals from an ALM risk perspective, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, policies, and regulatory requirements
Engage with business units (e.g. corporate treasury, global markets, overseas risk and treasury units) on risk appetite, strategies and positions
Represent ALM at various committees to present various topics including risk assessments, key developments and limit reviews
Review ALM risk limits, triggers, and utilization, including the assessment of limit calibrations, breaches, and remediation actions
Drive process enhancements and innovation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and management insights through automation, dashboarding, and the adoption of AI solutions
Conduct regular reviews of ALM methodologies, assumptions, and policies to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations, industry developments, and best practices
Participate in user testing of the ALM system as part of system enhancements and parameter updates
Who You Are
At least 8 - 10 years of related experience in the reporting and management of IRRBB or SFX risk management, for e.g. related to repricing gap, PV01, NII and EVE
Ability to synthesize risk and balance sheet information into clear and concise presentations for senior management and committees
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across various functions
Analytical, attentive to detail, and comfortable with handling data on Microsoft Excel and presenting results in tabular and chart format
Coding, dashboarding and automation skills would be a plus
