A $1,500/month housing stipend may be provided for those moving more than 45 miles from their home address.
Job Duties and Requirements:

We offer an internship in the following areas: Analytics - supports the automation of analysis and reporting for the enterprise with an emphasis on promoting self-service.
The teams provide end-to-end project services leveraging cutting-edge technology tools.
Data Science - helps solve a broad variety of problems in the energy industry, utilizing sensor data, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, text analytics, and image processing.
Automation - Robotic Process Automation is used to automate manual, repetitive user processes such as data entry, performing calculations, interacting with web applications, etc.
Automation of business processes enables the users to focus on more complex or valuable tasks and helps to reduce the error rates and improve standardization of administrative tasks.
Applications & Business Solutions - develops software and solutions as a member of a fast-paced agile team to meet business partner needs based on business vision.
Performs proactive and reactive application support activities to ensure effective operations of the applications.
Includes potential opportunities in application development, mobility, AR/VR, digital, AI/ML, and data visualization.
Infrastructure & Operations – deploys cost effective Technology Infrastructure solutions to enable the delivery of business applications, and supports all of the computing, storage data networks, databases and middleware platforms in AEP's primary and backup data centers.
Includes potential opportunities in cloud engineering, network operations, telecommunications engineering, service management, automation and data center operations.
Telecommunications Construction - The Telecom Fiber Construction team is responsible for the design, engineering and construction of fiber optic cable that is installed aerially or buried.
Functions involve design of the fiber routes, working with Right-Of-Way for permits, producing drawings, ordering material and coordinating fiber construction with 3rd party fiber crews.
The Telecom Civil Construction team is responsible for building Telecom sites consisting of a 330’ tower, building, power systems and electronics.
Functions involve developing construction packages, contractor bids and selection, site visits and construction coordination with the 3rd party tower and civil crews.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma. Must be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program at an accredited college/university, and completed the Freshman year in a 4-year business administration, computer science, or job-related program with at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred Qualifications:Course(s) of study including (but not limited to): Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics/Data Science, or related technology degree. Sound written and oral communication skills.Ability to work within teams and maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks.Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions.Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel.For Infrastructure & Operations internships, scripting languages, coding skills, Infrastructure technology exposure would be preferred.
