The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is accepting applications for a Semester Lecture appointment (temporary position) to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s)in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Duties include but are not limited to: holding office hours; grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in curriculum development; traveling abroad and course coordination.

All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.

  • Presenting course material and guiding students through assignments

  • Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment

  • Collaboration with fellow instructors

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Experience teaching in a learning setting including, but not limited to, K-12 classroom experience or higher education teaching as an instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant.
