The Position

As a Senior Business Analyst – Continuous Improvement Expert, you will manage end-to-end business analysis workstreams focused on improving how Workforce Enablement operates and delivers value to its consumers.

You will partner with teams, consumers, process owners and SMEs to identify operational challenges, eliminate unnecessary effort, optimize processes and shift work to the right support level, enabling faster, more reliable and cost-effective outcomes. You will combine Business Analysis with Continuous Improvement, structured problem solving, process optimization and data-driven analysis to identify root causes, define improvement opportunities and support sustainable solutions. You will use data to measure performance and impact, and contribute to Continuous Improvement frameworks, governance, reporting and best practices across Workforce Enablement.

You will act as a trusted advisor, facilitating workshops, aligning stakeholders and translating business challenges into practical solutions and measurable outcomes.

Description of the area

Workforce Enablement (WE) is the home for employee-facing products, services and experiences within RDT. We deliver digital tools, drive adoption and provide the support necessary to enable the entire workforce, wherever they are, every single day. The Continuous Improvement & Automation team is part of Workforce Insights & Oversight and is responsible for driving operational excellence and efficiency across Workforce Enablement through Continuous Improvement and Automation initiatives. The role identifies opportunities to eliminate unnecessary effort, automate repetitive tasks, shift work to the right support level, and optimize processes for faster, more reliable, and cost-effective outcomes. It leads initiatives that improve service delivery across all support levels, applying data-driven methods to monitor performance, measure impact, and ensure continuous improvement. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Scope / (Content Leadership): Independently manages end-to-end business analysis workstreams without guidance, tackling problems with emerging ambiguity. Proficiently adapts a range of standard frameworks, mentors junior and intermediate BAs, and proactively shapes team ways of working and best practices.

  • Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of business problems, performs thorough domain research, and drives root cause analysis. Accountable for delivering comprehensive requirements, contributing significantly to solution selection, and proactively identifying needs-solution discrepancies to propose creative improvements.

  • Stakeholder Management: Identifies a diverse range of cross-functional stakeholders and builds reliance through deep business understanding to act as a trusted advisor. Facilitates workshops, resolves conflicts, and proactively shapes stakeholder perspectives to strategically manage expectations and align them with project goals.

  • Impact/Strategy: Delivers impact that extends to a specific product, initiative, or cluster, contributing to domain goals by ensuring solutions provide demonstrable business value. Translates requirements into strategic implementation plans, influences tactical decisions, and contributes to long-term solution roadmaps.

  • Complexity / (Product Size): Works at a solution or product level involving multiple solutions, handling ambiguous requirements and systematically interacting with stakeholders across a broader product environment. Evaluates solution impacts considering both immediate and long-term business implications.

  • Business / Technical ability: Demonstrates a deep understanding of business and technical domains, technologies, and their interdependencies. Independently applies tools, principles, and techniques related to requirements, data, usability, and process analysis to manage interconnections and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor or advanced degree | Business or IT specification

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis / Consultancy, Continuous Improvement, Process Excellence or related experience, with at least 3+ years in life sciences/pharma or the assigned business function.

  • Proven experience independently managing end-to-end BA workstreams and/or process improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working with complex business problems, multiple stakeholders and ambiguous requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis/Consultancy concepts and practices, with intermediate expertise in at least one BA capability.

  • Strong proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation, ensuring comprehensive requirements traceability and consistent change management.

  • Ability to independently apply tools, principles, concepts, and techniques related to requirements, data, usability, and process analysis.

Additional Qualifications

  • Automation & Digital Innovation: Sound understanding of how AI, automation, and digital technologies can be applied to streamline operations and enhance service capabilities.

  • Process Optimization & Problem Solving: Proven experience applying Lean principles and structured methodologies (DMAIC, PDCA, A3, Value Stream Mapping) to analyze workflows, eliminate non-value-added effort, and optimize service delivery models.

  • Organizational Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Proactive mindset focused on driving organizational growth, challenging legacy ways of working, and actively participating in internal Communities of Practice (CoP).

  • Data-Driven Governance & Performance: Demonstrated ability to leverage KPIs, service metrics, and governance frameworks to evaluate operational impact and ensure improvements are measurable, scalable, and sustainable.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation: Exceptional communication and alignment skills, with experience leading cross-functional stakeholder strategies, facilitating collaborative workshops, and resolving operational challenges across business units.

  • Mentorship & Team Development: Strong commitment to guiding junior and intermediate Business Analysts in activity planning, task prioritization, and core analytical skill development.

  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent practical experience.
