Examples of Duties:
- Manages the Director’s calendar and schedules appointments, including detailed travel-related itineraries.
- Responds to calls and written correspondence.
- Prepares memos outlining and explaining administrative procedures and policies to supervisory workers, and monitors policy compliance.
- Directs preparation of meeting records, including agendas, notices, minutes, and resolutions.
- Prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents.
- Creates and maintains databases and spreadsheet files.
- Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
- May take minutes, transcribe notes, or perform other typing tasks.
- May facilitate programs, events, or conferences by arranging for facilities and caterer, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (AA/AS) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to type 35+ words per minute by touch
Other Necessary Requirements:
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
