Chief Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the electrical engineering team and coordinate daily engineering activities.
• Plan, design, review, and oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Ensure the reliability, availability, and efficiency of electrical equipment and systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Manage electrical projects from design and procurement through installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, automation, and other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor electrical equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement and energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, engineering standards, and applicable local and international codes.
• Investigate electrical failures, faults, and breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance and operations teams.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment requirements, budgets, and project schedules.
• Review and approve technical proposals, equipment selections, and engineering designs.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and external service providers.
• Manage electrical engineering budgets and control project and maintenance costs.
• Ensure proper documentation of electrical systems, maintenance activities, modifications, and projects.
• Implement electrical safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electrical engineers and technicians.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably in an industrial, commercial, construction, facilities, or infrastructure environment.
• Proven experience in managing and supervising electrical engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, distribution systems, motors, transformers, protection systems, and control systems.
• Experience with electrical design, maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
• Good knowledge of electrical safety standards and applicable engineering codes.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
