What You’ll Do
- Support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to patients
- Assist with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing comfort and well-being
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples as appropriate
- Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction
- Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery as appropriate to your skill level
- Educate clients and communicate veterinary recommendations in a clear, professional, and understandable way
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
- Build positive relationships with clients, teammates, and hospital leadership
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to achieve positive outcomes
- Help maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient-care areas
- Support teammates and contribute to an efficient, positive hospital environment
