Clinical Nurse Consultant (Continence)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant – Continence/Urology to lead the delivery of exceptional nursing care, education and clinical expertise within the Continence/Urology Service.

This role requires a dedicated nursing professional who is committed to delivering excellence in care, fostering positive relationships with patients and colleagues, and supporting the personal and professional growth of others. The Clinical Nurse Consultant will play a key role in education, consultancy, service development and clinical leadership, ensuring resources are utilised responsibly and in accordance with stewardship principles while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety and patient experience.

The role is offered on a 12-month, part-time contract basis, working 14 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in continence and urology nursing practice.
• Assess, coordinate and support care for patients with complex continence and urology needs.
• Deliver specialist clinical consultancy, guidance and support to multidisciplinary teams.
• Promote evidence-based practice through the development and evaluation of clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Lead education initiatives for patients, caregivers and clinical teams to enhance care outcomes.
• Support research, innovation and continuous improvement within the specialty area.
• Monitor, analyse and report on service performance, quality indicators and opportunities for service growth.
• Contribute to operational planning, budget management, product evaluation and strategic service development.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and extensive experience in continence and urology nursing, supported by a postgraduate qualification in Continence/Urology or a commitment to working towards one. You will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will have a sound understanding of relevant clinical standards, experience in education and mentoring, and the ability to apply evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Postgraduate qualifications, research experience and previous involvement in clinical trials will be highly regarded.

• Salary: $137,294 per annum (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation
