Senior Philanthropy Director - Principal Gifts

SUMMARY:

Leads Brown Health's principal gifts program and secures transformational philanthropic investments in support of the organization's highest priorities. Partners closely with executive leadership, physicians, volunteers, and major donors to advance enterprise fundraising opportunities.

Performance Expectations 

• Portfolio of 50–75 principal gift prospects and donors. 

• Annual fundraising goal of $5M+. 

• Active strategy for all assigned prospects. 

• Consistent pipeline that supports seven-figure opportunities. 

Core Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute strategies for transformational philanthropic investments. 

• Personally solicit and secure principal gifts. 

• Coordinate complex donor strategies involving leadership, physicians, volunteers, and multiple stakeholders. 

• Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned prospects and donors. 

• Maintain accurate forecasting, portfolio actions, and plans within CRM system. 

• Partner across fundraising and supporting services teams to advance top-tier donor strategies. 

• Primary partner with university colleagues on joint prospect strategy, initiatives, and solicitation. 

Liaison Responsibilities 

• Serve as primary philanthropy liaison for assigned area. 

• Maintain relationships with executive, clinical, research, and operational leaders in area. 

• Educate colleagues on priorities and opportunities in area. 

• Maintain awareness and support donor strategies, proposals, and leadership briefings and visits for that area. 

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of fundraising experience. 

• Demonstrated success securing seven-figure commitments. 

• Exceptional strategic planning, executive presence, relationship management, and communication skills.

Pay Range:

$140,774.40-$232,273.60
