The Senior Customer Account Manager provides senior-level account management and customer support for assigned tenant accounts. The position is responsible for developing and implementing tenant strategies, coordinating occupancy actions, resolving issues, and ensuring integrated service delivery that meets tenant needs and organizational objectives.
Background
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan legislative branch agency that supports Congress in meeting its constitutional responsibilities and improving the performance, transparency, and accountability of the Federal Government.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned tenant accounts and serve as a senior point of contact for customer and occupancy-related matters.
- Develop and execute tenant strategies that align with customer needs, mission requirements, and organizational objectives.
- Coordinate occupancy actions, including space assignments, moves, changes, and other tenant requirements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with complex institutional, corporate, and Government customers.
- Coordinate multiple service organizations to ensure integrated, timely, and effective service delivery.
- Identify, track, and resolve tenant issues, escalating complex or high-impact matters as appropriate.
- Facilitate meetings and working sessions with tenants, service providers, and stakeholders to drive issue resolution and action completion.
- Monitor tenant requirements, service performance, and customer satisfaction and recommend improvements as needed.
- Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, presentations, and written recommendations related to tenant and account management.
- Maintain accurate records of tenant actions, commitments, occupancy activities, and outstanding issues.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities affecting tenant operations and proactively develop solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience, service integration, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Seven years of real estate customer, account, occupancy, or tenant management experience.
- Experience supporting complex institutional, corporate, or government customers.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple service organizations.
- Strong written, briefing, facilitation, and issue management skills.

Location and Work Hours
This position is 100% on-site and requires daily reporting to the following location:
GAO Headquarters
Washington, DC
This role is not eligible for remote or telework arrangements. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite and be able to reliably report on-site as required.
This position follows a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Employees are expected to be available during core business hours of 8:00am- 5:00pm, with additional working hours scheduled outside of core hours as needed to fulfill the full work schedule.
The candidate must currently reside within commutable distance to the work location.
Compensation
This position is being recruited in support of a competitive federal contracting opportunity, and AES is continuing to develop its staffing, labor category, and compensation strategy. Because this position is expected to support a primarily remote workforce and qualified candidates may reside in different geographic markets throughout the United States, compensation expectations may vary considerably by location.
Final compensation will consider factors including geographic market, relevant experience, education, specialized records management expertise, applicable labor category requirements, and contractual and business considerations.
