HOURLY RATE: $19.52 per hour
PART-TIME HOURS:
Part Time: Average 2-3 shifts/week.
Full Time: Average 4-5 shifts/week
Must be able to work weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) from January through to March Break.
Race Crew work under the supervision of the Race Crew Supervisors and is responsible for working on hill (on skis and/or snowboard) to support the Alpine Ski Coaches with the setup, maintenance, operation, and takedown of all on-hill race training hills/lanes, on hill environments, and special events. This role works collaboratively with the whole Race and Freestyle Program department throughout the winter season
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Follow the procedures that are required in setting up a race training lane/environment/race day event.
Ensure that all signage has been placed for general public awareness of closed ski runs.
Ensures race, competition and events arenas/courses are safely maintained by adjusting gates, repairing fencing and branding, and supporting course upkeep with supervisors and coaches.
Assists with officiating roles including event starter, timer, course sweep, course maintenance.
Understands departmental service standards, is receptive of training and communication to create revolutionary guest experiences and achieve departmental goals.
Skillfully uses available resources, training and communication channels to achieve a highly productive, efficient environment with minimal downtime that produces high quality product(s) and service(s).
Participates in programming and completes training that unites employees around purpose and fun and therefore results in high employee satisfaction and engagement within their department.
Embraces and actively participates in a culture of teamwork between all employees that achieves the department's targets.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
Willing and able to work outdoors in a variety of unpredictable weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of gates and/or fencing while side slipping down the mountain.
Must be an experienced skier or snowboarder.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer services skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours; including evenings and weekends.
Some long shifts required.
Alpine Canada (ACA) Officials (Level 1 and above) qualification(s) and alpine ski coaching certification(s) are considered an asset.
