This position is contingent upon contract award. The anticipated start date for this role is late September 2026.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assess the behavioral health and support the needs of Service Members, veterans, and their families and maintain knowledge of military, state, federal, and community resources to provide appropriate referrals and support.
- Provide clinical services including intake, behavioral health screening, assessment, intervention and treatment planning, referrals, follow-up, and monitoring of clinical progress through in-person, telephone, and secure video conferencing.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, Army regulations, and applicable medical documentation requirements.
- Coordinate care with the Director of Psychological Health (DPH), Behavioral Health Team, community providers, collateral contacts, and, when appropriate, military supervisors or commanders to support continuity of care and duty re-entry needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and critical incident support and coordinate closely with the Behavioral Health Team on high-risk cases to promote wraparound care and suicide prevention.
- Conduct outreach, education, and prevention activities, including welcome-home events, post-incident debriefings, behavioral health education, and collaboration with substance abuse and suicide prevention personnel.
- Assist the DPH with initiatives that promote behavioral health, wellness, counseling, and treatment services, and provide two evidence-based relationship education courses annually.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical records, including assessments, risk assessments, diagnostic formulations, plans of care, and evidence-based intervention notes, and participate in required chart reviews and quality audits.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in the EHR.
- Conduct post-referral follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of services and ensure Service Members and families connect with appropriate resources.
- Maintain awareness of evolving behavioral health programs, resources, and Service Member initiatives through applicable training, seminars, and professional meetings.
- Follow all program requirements regarding eligibility and services to minors, including parental or legal guardian consent requirements, and provide community referrals to individuals who are not eligible for direct services.
- Provide weekend, drill weekend and special event support as needed to meet operational requirements and mission demands.
- Master’s degree and demonstrated practical experience in behavioral health or a related area relevant to the position.
- Current licensure as a clinical provider; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred, though other appropriate clinical licensures may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities within complex programs or projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present and provide training to large groups.
- Proficiency with computers and standard software applications used for documentation, communication, and program coordination.
- Demonstrated experience supporting military Service Members and families and an understanding of the unique challenges associated with military life.
- Experience providing behavioral health services across the lifespan, from children through older adults.
