Position Overview
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services in a hospital-based clinical setting, supporting accurate and timely diagnostic care.
- Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
- Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results using sound professional judgment
- Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
- Accurately document and manage laboratory data within applicable electronic health record and laboratory systems
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Work collaboratively with laboratory and healthcare staff to support timely patient care

Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 2–3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting
- Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience required
- Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred
- Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
- Immunization records required
