Job Description & Summary

Job Description & Summary

A career in our Advisory Acceleration Centre is the natural extension of PwC's leading class global delivery capabilities. We provide premium, cost effective, high quality services that support process quality and delivery capability in support for client engagements.

This role sits in the Finance Operations offering, part of our Finance Solutions practice within the DCM platform.

Finance Solutions (Practice): Transforms finance organizations by optimizing operations, enabling technology, and aligning processes to business strategy, covering FP&A, treasury and ERP platforms such as NetSuite.

Finance Operations (Offering): Helps finance organizations improve operational efficiency and process excellence across the core end-to-end finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, A2R), and supports business intelligence and analytics within the finance function, including ERP analytics support. Sub-offerings include: Account Rec / Policy and Procedure Work, End-to-End Finance Value Streams and ERP BI Support for Oracle, SAP and Workday, and End-to-End Process (non-ERP) / Value Stream Work.

Key Responsibilities

As a team member, you will work with the US project team on engagements that may involve (but are not limited to):

  • Finance process assessment and improvement: Work across the end-to-end finance value streams - R2R, P2P, O2C and A2R - to assess current state, size the opportunity and design standardized future state processes. This includes the documentation and controls that make the change stick: accounting policies, SOPs and desktop procedures, RACI and control matrices, and remediation of control gaps.
  • Record-to-report acceleration and automation: Shorten and de-risk the close through close calendar and task standardization, journal rationalization, automated account reconciliation and balance sheet substantiation, drawing on platforms such as BlackLine, Trintech, Oracle FCCS / ARCS, SAP and Workday. More broadly, identify automation opportunities across the finance function and apply RPA, low-code workflow and process mining (Celonis, Signavio) to realize and track the benefits.
  • Forecasting and planning: Build driver-based and predictive forecasting models for revenue, cost, working capital and cash, applying statistical and machine learning techniques to improve accuracy and enable rolling forecasts - in Excel, Alteryx or Python, and in planning platforms such as Anaplan, Oracle EPM, SAP Analytics Cloud and Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Digital reporting and agentic analytics: Rationalize report inventories, define KPI libraries and build self-service dashboards on Power BI, Tableau, Oracle FDI / OTBI, SAP Analytics Cloud and Workday Prism, including the underlying data validation and the ERP reporting support that runs through go-live and hypercare. Design and deploy automated narrative and flux / variance commentary using GenAI and agentic workflows, with human-in-the-loop review and appropriate quality controls.
  • Practice contribution: Support proposals and business development, and contribute to points of view, accelerators and thought leadership.

Skills Required

  • Finance domain depth: You understand how the numbers are produced - the close, journals, account reconciliation, intercompany and consolidation - along with the upstream and downstream processes (P2P, O2C, A2R) and the controls that sit around them. This can come from consulting, shared services / GBS or a corporate finance function, in any sector.
  • Process and improvement discipline: Comfortable assessing a process end to end and turning what you find into something actionable: process mapping and documentation, gap analysis, KPI and SLA definition, and structured improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Technical toolkit: Working fluency with some combination of Excel, Alteryx, SQL or Python for analysis and Power BI or Tableau for reporting, plus exposure to at least one ERP or EPM platform (Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite, Anaplan) and how its chart of accounts, sub-ledgers and reporting layers fit together. Familiarity with reconciliation and automation tooling such as BlackLine, Trintech, RPA or process mining is a plus. We do not expect all of these - real depth in a few matters more than passing knowledge of many.
  • Interest in AI-enabled finance: Curiosity about where GenAI and agentic workflows genuinely help the finance function - automated flux commentary, narrative reporting, document and journal review - together with a sound instinct for where human review and controls are still required.
  • Consulting and delivery skills: Structured problem solving, the ability to turn analysis into a quantified business case, clear written and verbal communication with finance and IT stakeholders, and the judgement to work autonomously with minimal direction.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 7 years of working experience. Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA, CMA, CA or CFA (Level 1 / 2 passed) preferred, MBA in Finance an advantage.
  • Experience in process assessment, documentation and improvement, and in finance automation.
  • Experience preparing financial analysis from income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, and management reporting or variance commentary.
  • Track record of engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.
