Explore the world of Barclays as a Summer Intern

Spend 10 weeks diving into real projects, gaining hands-on experience, and shaping your future. You’ll receive full support, take on meaningful responsibilities, and build lasting connections—all while discovering what makes our culture unique.

If you're in your penultimate year and ready to grow, learn, and make an impact, this is your opportunity to belong and thrive.

Why the Marketing programme?

Marketing at Barclays is about understanding customers and clients, building trusted brands and driving sustainable growth. As an intern, you'll gain first-hand experience of how Marketing helps shape the experiences of millions of customers, clients and communities while exploring areas such as customer insight, brand, content, digital channels, data and emerging technologies such as AI.

You'll work on meaningful projects, collaborate with colleagues across the bank and develop skills in creativity, problem-solving, analysis and stakeholder engagement. Along the way, you'll grow your network, learn from experienced professionals and discover how Marketing creates customer, commercial and brand impact across consumer, business-to-business and Group environments.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be in your penultimate year of university. You must be graduating in 2028.

You’ll bring creativity, curiosity, analytical thinking and an interest in how insight and communications shape customer and client engagement.

The location for this role is indicated in the job title, and you will be based at that location. If you are successful in receiving a return offer to our graduate programme, your location will be the same as it was during your internship.

Barclays is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this internship as the role does not currently meet the UK Home Office eligibility requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship.

To be eligible for this internship programme, you must therefore have the legal right to work on a full-time basis in the UK for the entire duration of the internship programme, from June 2027 to August 2027, without requiring sponsorship from Barclays. Please also note that, during your summer internship, you will be considered for a place on our 2028 graduate programme. As the graduate programme also does not meet the UK Home Office eligibility requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship, to be eligible for the internship, you will also need to demonstrate that you will have the legal right to work in the UK for the full duration of the graduate programme, from August 2028 to August 2030.

Please be aware that if you are unable to satisfy the right to work requirements for either the internship or the graduate programme at any stage, Barclays reserves the right to withdraw any offer made to you.
