Job Description

As a Process Control System Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing processes to enhance product quality and reliability. Your role includes improving process yield, reducing costs, increasing productivity, managing risks, and resolving manufacturing line issues. You will identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process-related problems using methodologies such as failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC. Additional duties involve coordinating process, equipment, and material evaluations to implement process changes, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives, managing new process baseline qualifications, and working with material suppliers to meet quality, cost, and risk management goals.

In this position, you will develop smart manufacturing solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, gaining exposure to areas such as Machine Learning, Advanced Control Solutions, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), and Deep Learning. You will have the opportunity to create comprehensive solutions, from requirements gathering and data analysis to system development, integration, and network-wide implementation. Your work will directly impact company performance by providing scrap/excursion control, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Process Control (APC or Run-to-Run), Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), and improved process capability. Collaboration with process teams to understand their tools, processes, and challenges is essential, as you will help develop process control models and strategies to ensure quality output.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enhance smart control solutions for optimal manufacturing performance.
• Provide technical oversight, guidance, and support for process control implementation.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis and modeling to identify process variations and translate findings into control solutions.
• Support teams in classification, characterization, and categorization, define data collection requirements, and perform integration and data setup in the E3 environment.
• Define analysis and setup requirements, establish limits and OCAP, and participate in regular reviews with the process control team and network on best practices.
• Develop and deliver training on control systems and related topics.
• Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to develop control systems for process management (Claude code, LLM)

Requirements

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced process control.
• PhD, Master’s, or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics.
• Knowledge of various sensor applications for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).
• Strong passion for programming and data analysis.
• Familiarity with machine learning and data science analytical skills.
• Preferred experience with Python, R, SQL, Hadoop ecosystem, and/or developing web-based applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Ambitious, with the ability to multitask and manage dynamic priorities.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required to fulfill objectives.
• Familiar with AI tools or with AI capabilities is preferred
