Description
SITEC Consulting is seeking an experienced System Architect - Enterprise Cross Domain Systems (ECDS) to support the architecture, modernization, integration, and sustainment of complex enterprise systems within a mission-critical Department of Defense environment.
This position will provide technical leadership for the design and evolution of enterprise architectures spanning cross-domain capabilities, cybersecurity infrastructure, networks, Windows/Linux platforms, and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate is a senior technical professional who can evaluate existing environments, translate mission and technical requirements into scalable system architectures, define future-state solutions, and guide engineering teams through implementation and modernization activities.
This is an architecture-focused position requiring sufficient hands-on technical depth to understand implementation challenges, evaluate technology solutions, resolve complex integration issues, and provide technical direction across multiple engineering disciplines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain system, enterprise, and solution architectures supporting Enterprise Cross Domain Systems and associated cybersecurity capabilities.
- Analyze mission, operational, security, and technical requirements and translate them into architecture designs, system requirements, interfaces, and implementation strategies.
- Define current-state, transition-state, and target-state architectures for modernization of complex enterprise environments.
- Design solutions spanning on-premises infrastructure, cloud services, Windows/Linux platforms, networking, cybersecurity technologies, and cross-domain environments.
- Develop architecture artifacts including system diagrams, network and data-flow diagrams, interface documentation, technical standards, implementation strategies, test plans, and capability roadmaps.
- Define system interfaces, dependencies, security boundaries, information flows, and integration requirements across enterprise environments.
- Evaluate existing and emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on mission requirements, cybersecurity, scalability, interoperability, performance, resiliency, and lifecycle considerations.
- Provide architectural guidance for the integration of enterprise cybersecurity technologies such as NDR, EDR, next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, F5 platforms, and email/web security capabilities.
- Support architectures incorporating AWS services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, RDS, and related cloud capabilities.
- Provide technical direction to engineering and implementation teams responsible for system deployment, configuration, integration, testing, and sustainment.
- Review proposed infrastructure, application, network, and security changes for architectural compatibility and technical risk.
- Support modernization efforts involving technology upgrades, infrastructure migrations, capability enhancements, and transition of legacy systems.
- Identify architecture-level technical risks, constraints, dependencies, performance considerations, and capacity requirements and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support security assessments, RMF/ATO activities, authorization efforts, and coordination with government stakeholders and external assessors.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity engineers, network engineers, cloud engineers, software teams, security personnel, and government stakeholders to ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture and mission requirements.
- Lead technical exchanges, design reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering discussions with technical and senior-level stakeholders.
- Serve as a technical lead or architecture lead for assigned capabilities, projects, or modernization initiatives as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph.
- 6+ years of relevant technical experience supporting system architecture, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity engineering, systems engineering, network engineering, or related disciplines within complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, or modernizing complex enterprise systems, preferably within DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified environments.
- Experience developing system or solution architectures involving multiple infrastructure, network, security, application, or cloud components.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, cybersecurity architecture, compute, storage, transport, and system integration principles.
- Experience working with Windows and Linux server environments.
- Technical knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity technologies such as NDR, EDR, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, F5 platforms, security gateways, or comparable enterprise security capabilities.
- Experience developing architecture diagrams, technical designs, interface documentation, capability roadmaps, test strategies, or other engineering artifacts.
- Experience evaluating technology solutions and making architectural recommendations based on technical, operational, cybersecurity, and mission requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and architecture decisions to engineers, program leadership, government stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.
- Ability to independently lead technical analysis and architecture activities with limited direction.
- DoD 8140.01 / 8570.01-M certification alignment for IAT Level III and IASAE Level II, as required by the position.
- Ability to obtain required CSSP-Analyst certification within 120 days of start date, if applicable to assigned duties.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing or supporting Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) or systems operating across multiple security domains.
- Experience supporting Enterprise Cross Domain Systems within DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
- AWS infrastructure or cloud architecture experience, including familiarity with EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, RDS, AMIs, networking, and cloud security concepts.
- Experience with hybrid on-premises/cloud architectures.
- Experience supporting RMF, ATO, security assessments, authorization activities, or external assessor coordination.
- Experience developing current-state and future-state architectures, transition roadmaps, architecture decision records, interface designs, or system-of-systems documentation.
- Experience providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience supporting modernization of large-scale, classified, mission-critical, or globally distributed enterprise systems.
