Transition To Practice Educator (RN)

Hours: 8-hour shifts – 8:00am to 5:00pm  

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX

 

We are seeking a Transition to Practice Educator. The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.  Ensuring a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support, coordinating the needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after the orientation period.

Responsibilities

 

• The Transition to Practice Educator will serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in live time. 
• Once needs are identified, targeted knowledge and skill deficits can be addressed through the coordination of available resources.
• Addressing the specific needs of each new nurse will ensure their role development success as well as enhance patient outcomes. 

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience.
•  BSN preferred.
