The Technical Lead Reliability & Analytics Engineer is responsible for driving gearbox and drive train reliability through a balanced application of advanced data analytics and systematic Root Cause Analysis (RCA). This role owns the technical strategy for both field performance monitoring and the formal investigation of complex fleet issues. By integrating high-level analytical insights with deep mechanical engineering diagnostics, this position converts technical data into actionable corrective and preventive actions, directly impacting product reliability and fleet performance.

Job Description

Responsibilities :

Root Cause Analysis & Reliability :

• Technical Lead of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for chronic or high-impact gearbox and drive train failures, applying rigorous methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC). 
• Collaborate with Engineering, Service, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to define, execute, and track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 
• Synthesize field data and physical inspection findings to validate failure hypotheses and drive product design or maintenance improvements. 
• Interface with external suppliers and internal technical experts to gather evidence, validate findings, and align on technical resolution paths. 
• Contribute to reliability growth programs and formalize "lessons learned" to prevent recurrence across the product line. 

Data Analytics :

• Lead the development of advanced analytical models to monitor gearbox and drive train performance, identifying anomalies and early-warning failure signatures. 

• Architect and maintain the software, dashboards, and analytical toolsets used for fleet-wide drive train evaluation. 

• Define the roadmap for commercial software tools; evaluate solutions based on scalability, technical integration, and business value. 

• Ensure data integrity, traceability, and technical rigor across all analytics outputs to provide leadership with high-confidence insights. 

• Establish best practices for analytical methods, data visualization, and automated reporting to support engineering decision-making. 

Required Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical field. 

• Significant experience in both mechanical Root Cause Analysis and engineering data analytics. 

• Deep technical knowledge of wind turbine gearbox/drivetrain failure mechanisms and performance behaviors. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and drive consensus in a matrixed environment. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders. 

Desired Characteristics :

• Advanced degree in Engineering or Data Science. 

• Formal certification or deep expertise in Reliability Engineering and RCA processes. 

• Experience with digital transformation in an industrial or renewable energy setting. 

• Strong business acumen regarding the intersection of product quality, reliability, and cost-of-energy. 

• Proven track record of influencing technical strategy without direct authority. 

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113.200 and $188.800. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
