Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Decision Support Lead – Financial Strategy Partner to serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to senior leaders across the organization. You’ll help develop and execute financial strategies that support Nebraska Medicine’s mission and goals while leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning through completion. You’ll partner with leaders across Finance, Operations, and clinical areas, analyze financial and operational data, identify opportunities and solutions, and coordinate the people and processes needed to bring initiatives to life. From supporting the financial execution of new facilities and services to improving processes and tackling competing priorities, you’ll be someone leaders can count on to see the big picture, build strong relationships, take ownership, and close the loop. The Decision Support Lead - Financial Strategy Partner will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership team members to develop and execute financial strategy to schieve the organization mission and goals. They are responsible for leading the organization’s process on long term strategic financial projections as well as providing critical analysis needed to translate financial or clinical needs into business requirements. Manages the underlying patient data used as the baseline within the monthly Physician wRVU calculations. Develops and presents service line analysis, business plans, and project feasibility studies. Provides executive leadership, management, physicians, and clinical staff with accurate and timely information for more effective decision making by analyzing requests for information and creating custom reports. Advises and makes recommendations for improvement based on data analysis and interpretations.
Required Qualifications: Decision Support Lead - Financial Strategy Partner
- Minimum of five years’ experience leading large, complex projects and analysis in healthcare and/or information systems required.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information technology, management engineering, or business administration required.
- Proven record of strong analytical, modeling, and data analysis skills utilizing large complex data sets required.
- Understanding of and experience with physician compensation plans and reporting required.
- Experience managing organizational strategic financial long-range modeling required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed for the variety of customer interactions associated with this position required.
- Experience leading analysis on opportunities/problems for financial and operational improvement through data analysis and interpretation required.
- Experience leading and participating in teams to apply collective expertise toward business challenges and improvements required.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to a wide range of groups including executive leaders required.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Strata, Tableau, Xcelsius, Cognos, Cogito, ArcMap required.
- Proven track record of effective process improvements required.
- Ability to lead projects and work with senior level executive teams, physician chairs, academic leaders, and other stakeholders in developing healthcare business strategies and mitigating enterprise risks required.
- Ability to translate broad requests and questions into meaningful trends, recommendations, and new business insight required.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver a comprehensive work product to end users required.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities required.
Preferred Qualifications: Decision Support Lead - Financial Strategy Partner
- Master's degree preferred.
- Working experience with multiple aspects of the health care system such as care delivery, clinical operations, finance, patient access, insurance, revenue cycle preferred.
- Comprehensive database knowledge including query and Crystal report writing skills preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of cost behavior, managed care reimbursement, business planning, and financial feasibility studies preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records coding terminology preferred.
- Track record of driving innovation in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Expert knowledge and extensive interest in Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint preferred.
