Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join our Finance organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of the month-end close, partnering with business leaders, and helping drive sound financial decisions across a diverse manufacturing organization.
Supporting multiple manufacturing sites across the United States, as well as operations in Michigan and Brazil, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.

What You'll Do
As the Senior Manager, Accounting, you'll serve as a trusted financial partner responsible for the accounting and reporting activities supporting approximately $120 million in annual P&L and an $80 million balance sheet across four business divisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit monthly reporting packages while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.
- Analyze financial results and explain variances against budgets and forecasts, providing meaningful insights to business leaders.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company accounting policies.
- Prepare annual tax reporting packages and support both internal and external audits.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls throughout the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage SAP to automate manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency.
- Prepare both recurring and ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic business decisions.
- Manage the company's Travel & Expense (Concur) and corporate card programs.
- Partner with leadership across multiple business units, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting and financial matters.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an accounting leader who enjoys balancing technical accounting with business partnership and continuous improvement.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA highly preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of IFRS and internal controls.
- Experience with SAP or another large ERP system.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $110,200-$137,800. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
