Job Description:
Five 8-hour shifts per week with on-call rotation for weekend call shifts.
Shifts may rotate depending on staffing needs but primarily a 0730-1600 shift
On call rotation is for weekends and holidays 0700-1500 and rotated between nursing staff
This position will work between Cardiology and Cardiac Rehab to assist with admissions and staff coverage.
Will rotate on call shifts with nurses within the department. May have to stay past end of shift time to complete studies on occasion.
The RN prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care of patients; participates in patient and family teaching; and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Creates a positive customer service environment.
Job Duties:
Assessment and identification of patient needs
Implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
- ADN or Higher
- BLS / ACLS mandatory. Will have 3 months to obtain ACLS if not initially certified.
- Background in Cardiology with rhythm interpretation STONGLY preferred. Will complete education/testing modules during orientation for rhythm interpretation.
