We are looking for a Senior Scientist R&D (m/f/d) for our location in Schlieren.
Responsibilities
LC‑MS proteomics is at the core of Biognosys’ innovation and operations. As a Senior Scientist R&D (m/fd), you will play a key role in the development, optimization, and application of proteomics assays, focus on sample preparation and targeted PRM/SRM methods including DIA. You will be responsible for developing biomarker assay technologies in compliance with regulatory guidelines. This includes critically assessing performance, robustness, and suitability of proteomic assays for translational and clinical research. Working closely with an interdisciplinary R&D team, you will design, execute, and evaluate proteomics experiments, integrating new chromatographic approaches, instrumentation, and data analysis strategies. Clear scientific communication, independent data analysis, and effective visualization of results are essential for success in this role.
- Responsible for proteomics workflow development
- Innovation for sample preparation (including intellectual property, trade secrets)
- Innovation of acquisition on the MS
- Writing SOP and training of scientific operations contract research
- Prototype workflows for transfer to consumables and kits
- Generation of impactful benchmark and biological data and collaborations for demonstrating technological and scientific leadership
Qualifications
- Degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics, or a bioanalytical field
- Master’s Degree or PhD with strong practical experience in proteomics
- Hands‑on expertise in targeted proteomics (i.e. PRM, targeted DIA)
- Industry experience
- Familiarity with targeted proteomics software tools such as SpectroDive, Skyline
- In‑depth understanding of bioanalytical method validation (BMV) guidelines and their application to the development of innovative assay technologies
- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and visualization skills, ideally using R
- Independent, curious, and quality‑driven mindset with the ability to see the big picture
- Willingness to take ownership and responsibility for scientific work
- Excellent written and spoken English
