JOB SUMMARY


The Website Administrator (Part-Time) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOP) website to ensure an engaging, accurate, accessible, and user-friendly digital experience for girls, families, volunteers, donors, community partners, and prospective members. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Development, this position serves as the Council's primary website administrator and collaborates with departments across the organization to support membership growth, volunteer engagement, fundraising, program participation, and community awareness.


The Website Administrator oversees website content management, functionality, navigation, and user experience, ensuring digital content remains current, relevant, and aligned with organizational priorities. This position maintains compliance with GSUSA brand standards, accessibility requirements, and website best practices while supporting the promotion of programs, events, campaigns, and Council initiatives through effective digital communications.

The Website Administrator exercises judgment within the scope of assigned responsibilities and collaborates with the Vice President of Marketing & Development on matters impacting website strategy, digital communications, user experience, content management, and organizational visibility. This part-time position performs specialized website administration, content management, and digital support functions requiring strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, organizational skills, and effective collaboration.



Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Website Administration & Content Management

  1. Serves as the primary administrator of the GSTOP website.
  2. Maintains, updates, organizes, and publishes website content, including program information, events, forms, resources, news, and landing pages.
  3. Ensures website content remains accurate, current, well-organized, and aligned with Council priorities and strategic goals.
  4. Edits content for accuracy, readability, accessibility, and search engine optimization (SEO).
  5. Conducts routine website audits to identify and correct errors, remove outdated content, repair broken links, and improve overall site quality.
  6. Maintains website forms, downloadable resources, multimedia assets, and system integrations.
  7. Develops and maintains website content standards and provides guidance to staff regarding content submission and digital best practices.
  8. Troubleshoots website issues, tests functionality, and supports routine website maintenance and quality assurance activities.


Brand Management & User Experience

  1. Ensures the website consistently reflects GSUSA brand standards, Council messaging, and visual identity.
  2. Creates and maintains an engaging, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for girls, volunteers, families, donors, community partners, and prospective members.
  3. Evaluates website navigation, accessibility, usability, and user experience and recommends improvements that enhance engagement and effectiveness.
  4. Supports compliance with accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices.
  5. Ensures campaigns, graphics, content, and messaging remain consistent across digital platforms and communication channels.


Digital Performance & Collaboration

  1. Supports membership recruitment, fundraising, volunteer engagement, and program initiatives through effective website content, campaign pages, and digital communications.
  2. Monitors website analytics and user behavior and identifies opportunities to improve engagement, user experience, and conversion rates.
  3. Prepares website performance reports and provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
  4. Coordinates website requests and content updates with Council departments, vendors, and external partners as needed.
  5. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with staff, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders to support organizational priorities.
  6. Maintains regular and reliable attendance during agreed-upon work hours and as otherwise necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
  7. Performs other duties and supports special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing & Development.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS -- Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  1. Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience may be considered.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in website administration, content management, digital communications, or a related field.
  3. Experience utilizing content management systems (CMS) such as Sitecore, WordPress, Drupal, or similar website platforms.
  4. Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
  5. Membership in Girl Scout organization.
  6. Must be willing to work with all people without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  7. Demonstrated ability to create, edit, proofread, and manage digital content with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and user experience.
  8. Working knowledge of website accessibility standards, search engine optimization (SEO), website analytics, and digital communication best practices.
  9. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web technologies, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and platforms.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other business technologies.
  11. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, website analytics tools, and donor or constituent database systems preferred.
  12. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and produce high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

  20. Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
  21. Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.
