The primary responsibility of the Senior Solutions Architect Workplace is to consult with clients and collaborate with internal teams to define strategies, transformational solution designs, and architectural visions for complex solutions that address client requirements. This role provides multi-technology consulting services across application software, infrastructure, and related technology components.

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Contributes to the development of complex UCC solution architectures across specific business, infrastructure, or functional areas.

• Designs, describes, and calculates multi-vendor solutions with a focus on technologies and solutions from Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft, AudioCodes, and other third-party providers.

• Evaluates, discusses, and presents solutions to clients.

• Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability.

• Prepares and contributes to customer proposals, including effort estimation, costing, pricing input, and commercially viable solution descriptions in close collaboration with sales and delivery teams.

• Brings subject matter expertise in multi-technology infrastructure design and related best practices.

• Supports a change program or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards.

• Accountable for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.

• Monitors the external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies.

• Creates reports and technology roadmaps and shares knowledge and insights with others.

• Provides recommendations for the development of new go-to-market services and contributes domain knowledge across relevant industry verticals.

• Coaches and mentors Junior Solution Architects.

• Works in partnership with internal stakeholders to develop the architectural approach for one or more layers of a solution.

• Exercises sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve desired outcomes.

 

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

• Specialist knowledge and strong understanding of the IT industry environment and associated business requirements.

• Extensive, long-standing knowledge and experience with multi-vendor UCC solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Good commercial awareness and pre-sales skills, with the ability to translate technical solution concepts into value-based proposals and client-facing recommendations.

• Specialist and long-standing knowledge of configuration and quoting tools from Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft, AudioCodes, and other third-party providers.

• Ability to develop and apply specialist knowledge of reference architectures.

• Ability to maintain current knowledge of technology trends and developments across relevant domains.

 

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Pre-sales vendor certifications from Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft, AudioCodes, and other third-party providers are desirable.

 

Experience required:

• At least 10 years of professional technical experience in Workplace and UCC solutions within large-scale, preferably multinational, client environments. Experience should include architecture and solution design for multi-vendor UCC solutions based on Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft, and AudioCodes technologies, as well as the demonstration and presentation of solutions to clients.

• Experience in proposal creation, solution costing, and commercial input for bids or client offers is desirable, particularly in pre-sales or solution architecture roles.

• Proven client engagement and consulting experience, combined with strong expertise in client needs assessment and change management.
