The Spirit of the Position:
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring garages and surface lots are maintained, cleaned and operating smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis. Interface with customers, handle disputes, provides effective communication between departments, co-workers, customers and clients.
Principal Job Duties:
• Ensure garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned daily.
• Responsible for general maintenance of the garage and surface lots – sweeping,
wiping down surfaces and equipment, emptying trash, picking up trash, changing
overheard light bulbs, painting, light power washing, light plumbing, garage gate arm
repair, and maintaining the PARCS system overall. Along with other janitorial duties
throughout the garage.
• Responsible for monitoring, via camera, multiple parking garages and locations
• Ability to communicate with customers and proactively address issues/complaints
through an intercom from a central location.
• Operate a garage/floor sweeper and scrubber to ensure floors are clean and safe.
• Responsible for ensuring all daily duties including reports, logs, and maintenance
checklists are completed efficiently and timely using Microsoft Office.
• Greet customers using name, be responsive and timely with correspondence and
problem resolution, and display a caring attitude, develop a rapport with the customer
base.
• Provide vehicle assistance to customers in garages and surface lots.
• Assist customers as needed over intercom system, in lobbies, lanes, and in the
parking office.
• Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer
satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all
times.
• Assist customers with transactions and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Must be able to perform valet parking when needed.
• Ability to work seamlessly with coworkers and colleagues in a combined effort to
maximize garage/lot operational efficiencies.
• Accept monthly and debit payments and process credit cards.
• Basic computer skills in the parking revenue control system (add/delete accounts,
key in required information from monthly applications).
• Assist with periodic training as needed.
• Assist with creation of weekly garage schedule.
• Ensure adherence to rules of conduct, policies and procedures as needed.
• Assist in training others on day-to-day activities.
• Assist in establishing performance standards, recommending, and implementing
changes to procedures when necessary.
• Collect revenue and prepare the cash/check deposits.
• Responsible for running any reports related to daily revenue, credit cards, garage
data or other reports requested by management.
• Use the Skidata PARCS system and all its abilities to remotely address issues
across the 7 locations.
• Physical patrols of all the locations and completing daily checklists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
Experience:
• Experience with general facility maintenance required.
• Experience in customer relations.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Able to operate maintenance vehicles and manual and automatic transmission
vehicles. Possess valid CA driver’s license, meet LAZ MVR requirements
Skills:
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Ability to work at multiple facility locations where needed.
• Ability to problem solve and handle customer complaints and concerns
professionally.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language.
• Proficient computer skills – work experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
• Must be able to make decisions independently and handle situations professionally
• Requires good time management skills - ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs and ramps.
• Ability to safely climb 12-foot ladder.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
• Ability to operate machinery including a golf cart, company vehicle, and
scrubber/sweeper.
