Logan Health is seeking a PRN Health Unit Clerk (HUC) to support our Critical Care team across the ICU and PCU. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of the care team, providing the administrative and non-clinical support that helps our nurses, providers, patients, and families navigate a fast-paced critical care environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Critical Care HUC, you’ll help keep the unit running smoothly by:

• Supporting admission, pre-admission, and discharge processes and maintaining accurate patient records and charts.
• Entering provider orders and completing essential administrative functions that support patient care.
• Monitoring patient telemetry and responding appropriately to monitor alarms by communicating with the appropriate member of the healthcare team.
• Working closely with nurses, providers, and other members of the care team to help establish and maintain priorities in a busy, constantly changing environment.
• Helping maintain patient rooms, equipment, supply areas, and other unit resources so the team has what they need to provide excellent care.
• Supporting compliance with Medicare and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Managing office supplies and resources with a focus on organization and cost containment.
• Providing professional, compassionate communication with patients, families, visitors, and members of the healthcare team.
• Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism, tact, and discretion.
• Performing other duties that support the needs of the critical care team.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Ideal candidates will have:

• Post-high school education or vocational training in healthcare preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• At least one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, record keeping, filing, and basic office procedures preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software and electronic medical record systems.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification preferred, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively with a variety of people while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• A team-focused mindset and the ability to remain flexible and responsive as priorities change.

Additional Requirements

Depending on assigned responsibilities:

• Telemetry certification offered by Logan Health must be successfully completed within three months of hire.
• Montana Notary Public Commission must be successfully obtained within three months of hire.

Shift:

Night Shift - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: PRN scheduled as needed, 12-hour Night shifts

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
