This position provides leadership and oversight to the Invasive and Non-Invasive clinical departments within the Heart and Vascular Institute. This role is responsible for maintaining financial and clinical expertise within the Heart and Vascular Institute. This role is accountable for developing and implementing new service programs, budging initiatives and ensuring all policy, procedure, and standards of practice are adhered to.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

2. Must possess and maintain one of the following unrestricted licenses, registrations, or certifications:

-Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

OR

- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) issued by state in which services are being rendered AND

-Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)

OR

-Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification AND
-Current Physician’s Assistant License issued by the state in which services will be provided

OR

Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND

Current Radiography License as required by state board where services will be provided:  

MD:  Radiographer License through Maryland Board of Physicians 

OH:  Radiographer License through Ohio Department of Health 

PA:  No state licensure required 

WV: Radiography License through West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board 

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years of Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.

2. Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in surgical or procedural services.

1. Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

1. Creates and maintains capital, operational, staffing, and materials budgets.

2. Creates, edits, and reviews all departmental policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.

3. Recommends and participates in enterprise wide selection of capital equipment/purchases and budgeting.

4. Collaborates with Allied Health/WVU Medicine team in regards to contracting/purchasing.  Participates in HVI Value Analysis committee meetings on a monthly basis.

5. Collaborates with Physician/Administrative HVI leadership to develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans for operation/financial performance.

6. Oversight of regional imaging and cath lab operations, maximizing efficiency.

7. Evaluates regional resources to identify opportunities to increase and improve services for the service area.

8. Works closely with the HVI leadership team to drive standardization and best practice.

9. Works with the regional ambulatory administrator to coordinate efficient service delivery at all locations.

10. Oversees compliance to HVI protocols.

11. Plans, organizes and evaluates the delivery of patient care by empowering staff and coordinating activities between operation departments.

12. Collaborates with medical staff, ancillary support directors and other personnel in resolving issues and promoting and planning optimal patient care.

13. Establishes and ensures effective reporting and communication between program components, sites, and teams.

14. Selects, hires, manages, and evaluates the performance and effectiveness of employees and facilitate the professional development of all staff to ensure clinical practice competence.

15. Responsible for the oversight of the Human Resource function within departments.

16. Participates in the Quality Assurance committee meetings, using data for process improvements for departments

17. Collaborates with OR Management teams to facilitate coordination of HVI physician OR times/needs.
