Lead regulatory strategy, policy advocacy and compliance oversight across telecommunications and financial services regulatory frameworks. The role proactively influences policy outcomes, manages regulatory risk, supports strategic business initiatives, strengthens stakeholder relationships and ensures the organisation remains compliant with applicable laws, regulations and licence obligations.

Strategic Regulatory Leadership

• Develop and execute the regulatory affairs strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Provide forward-looking analysis of regulatory and policy developments and advise executives on business impact.
• Represent the company in industry consultations, hearings, and policy forums.

Regulatory Policy, Advocacy and Submissions

• Lead the preparation of regulatory submissions, licence applications, tariff filings, and formal correspondence.
• Influence emerging policy and legislative frameworks through evidence-based advocacy.
• Review draft legislation, directives and regulations and provide recommendations.

Regulatory Risk, Compliance and Governance

• Maintain a regulatory compliance and risk management framework.
• Monitor compliance with telecommunications, financial services and licence obligations.
• Coordinate regulatory audits, inspections, and remediation plans.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build trusted relationships with regulators, government bodies, industry associations, and strategic partners.
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans to proactively manage regulatory issues.

Business Support and Advisory

• Provide regulatory guidance on new products, digital services, partnerships, and transformation initiatives.
• Support commercial, technology and financial services teams throughout project lifecycles.

Reporting and Capability Building

• Prepare executive, board, and regulatory reports.
• Coach junior regulatory professionals and promote regulatory awareness across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or related qualification
• Admitted Attorney and/or Master's degree advantageous
• 5-7 years' experience in telecommunications, financial services, public policy or regulatory affairs
• Demonstrated experience engaging regulators and managing complex regulatory matters
