Storeman

Our client is seeking a responsible and energetic Storeman to support the efficient receipt, storage, control and issuing of parts, equipment and consumables. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate stock records, supporting internal customers and ensuring that all stores activities are completed in line with operational, safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, store and issue materials, equipment and consumables according to approved requisitions.
• Verify requisitions and ensure the required authorisations are in place before stock is issued.
• Capture stock movements and Stores Requisitions accurately on the ERP system.
• Receive returned stock and ensure that correct return procedures are followed.
• Receive direct deliveries and stock items in the correct allocated areas.
• Monitor stock levels and report low, damaged or incorrect stock to the relevant supervisor.
• Assist with stock counts, stocktaking, relabelling and stock allocation.
• Support internal customers with stores and stock-related queries.
• Perform forklift operations and required equipment inspections.
• Monitor and record diesel levels and gas cylinder quantities.
• Maintain accurate registers and documentation relating to stock movements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores environment.
• Ensure PPE is worn where required and comply with all SHEQ and legal requirements.

Requirements:

• Grade 12.
• A National Diploma related to inventory management, stores, procurement or logistics would be advantageous.
• Previous experience within a stores or inventory environment would be advantageous.
• Experience within a factory or manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of stock keeping, stock control and maintenance spares.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant procurement requirements would be advantageous.
• Forklift experience would be beneficial.
