Position Summary

As part of the comprehensive internship program, interns will participate in events which help them build a strong network within the SJI community and with fellow interns. Interns enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment throughout this 11-week summer program. The Ignite Internship Program also offers participants mentorship, educational seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization.

The Collaboration and Productivity Services internship at South Jersey Industries offers students hands-on experience in development, configuration, and application administration while improving business processes and efficiency. The intern will troubleshoot complex issues and help automate and enhance processes across ServiceNow and Microsoft 365. Within Microsoft 365, they will support collaboration and productivity solutions across platforms such as SharePoint and the Power Platform, while gaining exposure to administration, configuration, governance, and user support. They will learn team procedures, document them in the operational knowledge base, and expand the Service Catalog with forms, workflows, and notifications. The intern will also participate in SJI’s Ignite Summer Internship Program, including networking events with the SJI community and other early-career professionals. The hybrid program also provides mentorship, educational seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Manage tickets in the ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 queue and ensure all operational work is completed
• Meet with business partners to understand enhancement requests
• Turn enhancement requests into technical blueprints for development
• Develop custom solutions using ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 to help SJI automate processes
• Create custom workflows and forms to improve existing processes
• Research and present one improvement to ServiceNow or Microsoft 365

Qualifications

Required Background:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate problems and generate solutions
• Technical acumen with the ability to interpret and solve technical problems
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and to work well independently

Required Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with XML, JavaScript, and/or Boolean logic
• Understanding of ITIL v4, specifically ITSM
• Attention to detail to successfully execute documentation and testing
• ServiceNow or Microsoft 365 experience

Compensation Range:

$18 - 28

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
