Opportunity Profile
Location: Hartsville, South Carolina
Position Title: Electrical Engineer
The Opportunity:
This is a rare opportunity to step into one of the most influential electrical engineering roles within a large paper and packaging manufacturing network. The position exists because a highly respected engineer with approximately four decades of service retired, creating an immediate need for an experienced power systems professional who can preserve and expand a critical area of technical expertise.
Reporting into the divisional engineering organization, the selected candidate will provide electrical engineering support across approximately 70 North American paper mills. Rather than being limited to a single facility, this role offers broad exposure to diverse operations, complex capital projects, and large-scale industrial power systems.
The successful engineer will become a trusted technical resource for plant managers, maintenance leaders, project teams, electricians, and operations personnel. This individual will help solve challenging electrical issues, support critical infrastructure upgrades, and guide engineering decisions that directly impact reliability, productivity, safety, and capital effectiveness across the division.
This opportunity is particularly attractive for a seasoned power distribution engineer who wants to move beyond plant-level responsibilities and influence an entire manufacturing network. The organization is seeking someone capable of stepping into a future leadership path as senior team members approach retirement, creating a succession opportunity with long-term career growth potential.
The Company:
Our client is a leading industrial manufacturing organization with an extensive North American manufacturing footprint. The electrical engineering group supports a large network of paper mills and manufacturing operations, providing technical expertise and capital project execution across the business.
The company's engineering culture emphasizes technical ownership and hands-on problem solving. Engineers are entrusted with significant responsibility and are encouraged to develop practical solutions rather than relying heavily on outside resources. Internal engineering capability is viewed as a strategic advantage, resulting in meaningful project involvement and high visibility throughout the organization.
For professionals who enjoy working in complex industrial environments and making measurable contributions, the organization offers the opportunity to influence major assets and critical infrastructure throughout a broad manufacturing network.
The Boss:
The position reports through an experienced divisional engineering leadership team responsible for engineering support across the North American paper mill division.
The leadership team is focused on building long-term technical strength and is intentionally seeking an engineer who can bring deep expertise in industrial power distribution while developing into a future leadership contributor. The hiring team understands the value of specialized engineering knowledge and is committed to finding an individual capable of making an immediate impact rather than requiring extensive training.
The selected candidate will work closely with senior electrical engineering leadership and an established engineering team, gaining exposure to decades of industry knowledge while helping shape the future direction of the department.
The Position:
The Electrical Engineer serves as a divisional technical expert supporting industrial electrical systems across a large manufacturing network. This role combines power system engineering, electrical design, capital project execution, and technical troubleshooting.
