Job Description
What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)
- You will build foundational expertise through an immersive experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- This internship will give you a 360-degree view of how energy technology is built, using a foundation of lean
- Work with a team of skilled technicians on the floor, providing support and troubleshooting equipment and process issues to ensure safety, quality and productivity
- In a Quality, Lean, or Manufacturing Engineering focused position, you’ll eliminate waste and optimize production
- Conduct root cause analysis to address production issues and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement advanced technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities
- Gain access to senior leaders and dedicated career coaching to help you navigate your path
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Energy related majors will be considered.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
- The required work location is Schenectady, NY - 100% onsite.
- Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Versatile Problem Solvers: A major in Engineering
- Strong Interpersonal Agility: The ability to connect with and influence individuals at all levels of the organization—from the shop floor to senior management
- Proactive Mindset: A self-starter attitude with a deep commitment to a long-term career in manufacturing and supply chain
- Resilience: The ability to maintain a positive attitude and manage effectively through challenging or high-pressure situations
- Commitment: Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale cumulative GPA (without rounding).
- Experience with Design software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software)
- Experience in Robotics or AI

May or June 2027 to August 2027 (Summer).

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
This position is also eligible for:
Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
