Support Equipment Sustainment Engineering Specialist, Military Engines (P3)

Job Title: Support Equipment & Container Engineering Specialist 

Job Description: 
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Equipment Sustainment Engineering Specialist to support Military Engine Programs, including F135, F119 and F117. This role integrates support equipment (SE) repair engineering, warehouse technical support, and container lifecycle management into a single function supporting operational readiness across multiple military programs. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve equipment and container serviceability, perform inspections, repairs, and partner with engineering, PHS&T, warehouse operations, and external vendors. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Perform inspections, dispositions, and serviceability assessments for support equipment 
Determine repair requirements, verify part numbers, and perform minor corrective repairs such as blends, detail replacements, and cleanups.  
Ensure conformance to Cost Estimate Sheets (CES), identify discrepancies, and communicate necessary updates to the fleet management team 
Document container and crate inspection results through detailed reports and photographs to ensure compliance with engineering and functional requirements  
Adhere to established warehouse standard operating procedures and implement industry best practices.  
Collaborate with PHS&T and Project Engineering teams on new container/crate development, engineering modifications, and process improvements for SE tooling, container management, and warehouse workflows  
Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement of SE design, repair procedures, and operational processes.  
Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.  
Participate in shop-specific safety training programs and ensure compliance with OSHA job safety requirements.  
Maintain ethical standards in all job-related activities and interactions. 
Participate in Support Equipment engineering investigations in the warehouse or on the shop floor. 
Coordinate with repair vendors on repair status and provide general repair instructions.  
Qualifications You Must Have: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical field, and 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business  or related technical field and 3+ years of relevant experience. 
Technical understanding of support equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul 
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; familiarity with dimensional inspection processes 
Capability to complete minor repairs SE of assets  
Proficiency in disassembling and assembling SE assets for inspection.  
Direct experience supporting military programs/customers. 
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements. 
Ability to travel up to 10%

Proven experience in Support Equipment repair management, or related areas within aerospace or defense industries. 
Strong technical expertise and ability to address complex process-related challenges. 
Strong problemsolving, collaboration, and communication skills; ability to balance competing priorities 
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. 
Detail and results oriented with good problem-solving skills 
Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities 
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications and SAP

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
