Accounting Associate II

Description

The Accounting Associate II plays a critical role in supporting Koltiv’s financial operations through accurate accounting, compliance, and process excellence. This position is responsible for independently managing assigned accounting activities, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and ensuring timely, accurate deliverables. Working with limited supervision, the Accounting Associate II applies sound judgment to resolve routine accounting issues, identifies opportunities for process improvement, and communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Accounts Payable

• Vendor invoice entry with accuracy and timeliness.
• Reviewing Vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been processed.
• Ticket processing from accounting email – filing vendor invoices, sending copies of w-9’s, and moving tickets to other departments.
• Execute check, EFT, and credit card payments.
• Assisting with reporting as needed.

Monthly Reconciliations

• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, cost of goods sold (COGS), shipping, freight, and credit card statements.
• Take ownership of 3rd party product reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are independently identified and corrected.

Accounts Receivable

• Monitor AR balances weekly and follow up on past due invoices with the account executive or the client.
• Create monthly agreement invoices and send to correct billing contact.
• Reporting on service invoices and ensure bi-weekly services invoices are sent to the correct billing contact.
• Create special invoices as needed. (Shipping or overages usage, ect.)
• Assist with daily deposits.
• Assisting with reporting as needed.

Leased Equipment

• Track leased equipment for end-of-life (EOL) options and prepare monthly reporting.
• Communicate end of lease options to the Lessor and process end of lease tickets.
• Other duties and tasks as needed

Requirements

• Education & Experience: A minimum of  2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a managed services provider (MSP) or technology environment. Solid understanding of GAAP and routine accounting processes. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in accounting.
• Skills: Problem Solving. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with proven attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Competencies: Demonstrates reliability, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Exhibits the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines effectively, and exercise independent judgment in routine accounting      matters.
• Work Environment: This is an in-office position based in Urbandale, Iowa, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hybrid work flexibility may be available after the training period, subject to business needs and manager approval.
