Job Statement

Genesis Minerals Limited is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Leonora Operations. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, this role provides environmental leadership and technical expertise to support safe, compliant and sustainable mining operations, project development and closure activities, while fostering a positive environmental culture across our sites.

 

Working as part of a high-performing team, you will play a key role in supporting operational performance and continued growth of the Genesis business.

 

This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth to Leonora.

 

The opportunity:

• Develop environmental approvals and supporting documentation, including coordination of environmental surveys, where required.
• Prepare and deliver accurate and timely internal and external environmental compliance reports.
• Support the delivery of growth and operational projects through provision of timely and pragmatic environmental advice.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring programs, ensuring activities are completed to schedule, and environmental data is effectively managed, analysed and reported.
• Assist in the planning, implementation and ongoing management of rehabilitation and mine closure activities.
• Provide support and guidance to operational teams in the management, investigation and reporting of environmental incidents and non-compliances.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and field assessments in accordance with compliance obligations and inspection schedules.
• Promote environmental awareness and provide leadership, coaching and technical guidance on environmental matters to site personnel.

 

We would love to hear from you if you have​:

• Five years site-based environmental advisory experience within an operating mining environment;
• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science (or a related discipline)
• C Class Manual Driver’s License essential
• Knowledge and applications of the Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental regulatory framework, in particular, permitting and compliance under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the Mining Act 1978
• An understanding of Environmental Management Systems
• Excellent MS Office and report preparation skills (GIS skills would be considered favourable).
• High level of personal organisational, teamwork and communication skills.
