## The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Supports various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

## This role in summary

This position is part of the Dry Unit team within the Mechanical Structures Subsystem group in Laundry. This Engineer will support the implementation of design solutions for dry systems across various drying technologies such as heat pump, condensing, and air-vented clothes dryers as well as system-level design, cost, quality and time tradeoffs.

## Your responsibilities will include

  • Drive new Cost & Quality projects for Dryers with a focus on structural components (plastic and metal) and physics understanding (Dynamics, thermodynamics, air flow).
  • Support the module technology roadmaps and management of key inputs such as complexity reduction, attribute requirements, and cost & quality.
  • Understand the critical module parameters that contribute to system level attribute requirements (functional decomposition).
  • Support new product design from concept development to execution.
  • Support in the development of multiple concepts and utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), design verification plans and risk assessment tools to assist in decision making.
  • Support in the development and capturing of the knowledge required to deliver module level excellence.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, product approval, manufacturing, and supply teams to ensure project alignment and on-time delivery.

## Minimum requirements

  • BSME with an emphasis in Mechanical / Mechatronic / Automobile Engineering or related fields.
  • 1+ years in Appliance / Consumer Goods Industry Experience or relevant Industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Risk Management and Project Management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Creo).
  • Ability to apply fundamental physics to design and analyze both mechanical and thermal systems.
