The Cell Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring work center activities to ensure the achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Labor (SQDCL) objectives. The role oversees operational performance, resource allocation, workforce development, process compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor workload, processes, equipment, and manpower to ensure efficient operations and achievement of SQDCL targets.
- Coordinate with other clusters and business units to properly schedule customer units for repair, including shared OEM work locations, test stands, and certified personnel requirements.
- Monitor operational performance and proactively address production constraints to maintain workflow continuity.
Safety and Workplace Management
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and housekeeping requirements.
- Conduct daily inspections of the work area to identify unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and housekeeping concerns.
- Maintain effective implementation of 5S practices and ensure the availability of necessary resources, tools, gauges, materials, engineering support, and maintenance services.
Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
- Identify operational risks, shortages, bottlenecks, and potential roadblocks.
- Implement timely corrective actions and escalate critical issues when necessary.
- Lead root cause analyses and facilitate the implementation and closure of corrective actions using appropriate problem-solving and management tools.
Team Leadership and People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance objectives.
- Manage performance management processes, including goal setting, capability building, training, certification, performance monitoring, feedback, formal appraisals, and recognition programs.
- Support employee career development through Individual Development Plans (IDPs), training programs, and promotion recommendations.
- Drive employee engagement and development initiatives aligned with the organization's Leadership Management System (LMS).
Compliance and Discipline
- Ensure adherence to established processes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain process discipline within the team and address performance or conduct issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Completion of at least a three-year technical course, or
- Completion of three years of college in a relevant field supplemented by six months of relevant vocational training.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in the sector's product line or related operations environment.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience.
Competencies
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and corrective action processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and develop teams in a manufacturing, repair, or operations environment.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, and operational excellence principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in repair operations, aerospace, manufacturing, or related technical industries.
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Performance Management Systems.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional resources and managing operational schedules.
