We are searching for the best talent for a Trainer II.
The Trainer II is responsible for training and qualifying direct manufacturing personnel in accordance with approved procedures and using the appropriate documents, materials, and tools for the operations supported. This role enables workforce capability development through training, certification, coaching, and the application of Job Instruction (JI) methodologies for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and certified associates serving as On-the-Job Trainers. The role manages Learning Management System (LMS) data related to the certification process, partners with management to evaluate training practices, and identifies skills that can improve site training efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Training and qualification
Ensure all manufacturing personnel are trained and qualified according to applicable specifications, procedures, and training curricula using approved documents, materials, and tools.
Execute and/or coordinate training plans for assigned production areas in alignment with business goals and objectives.
Teach and certify selected personnel to perform Job Instructor (JI) responsibilities using Training Within Industry (TWI) methodology for On-the-Job Training (OJT).
Evaluate, monitor, and coach JIs, SMEs, certified associates, and On-the-Job Trainers on JI methodology, OJT execution, and training effectiveness.
Ensure personnel requiring certification are appropriately trained, qualified, and certified; coordinate initial certification assessments and recertification audits.
Conduct New Hire Orientation programs as needed, including theoretical and practical training components.
Maintain knowledge and proficiency in manufacturing processes and production operations within assigned areas, subscribe to applicable training curricula and documents, and attend designated production meetings regularly.
Training systems and documentation
Manage and maintain training records, reports, logbooks, training matrices, and documentation associated with employee training and qualification activities.
Manage LMS information related to training, qualification, certification, and the OPCERT process; review LMS reports for recertification.
Draft, revise, and coach others in preparing Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) for new and existing jobs and activities, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and best practices.
Coaching, improvement, and collaboration
Partner with management to evaluate the effectiveness of current training practices and programs.
Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness, workforce capability, productivity, operational efficiency, and employee development.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, operations, and other functional teams to support organizational objectives.
Communicate business-related issues and opportunities to the next level of management, as appropriate.
Execute additional activities requested by the Training Leader and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Compliance, safety, and quality
Comply with all applicable Quality Management System, environmental, safety, occupational health, and sustainability policies and procedures, including ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
Understand and comply with environmental, occupational health, safety, and sustainability regulations established by the Company, and ensure proper safety procedures and practices are followed during training activities.
Follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices, as applicable, and ensure personal and Company compliance with federal, state, local, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
For employees with supervisory responsibilities, ensure team members follow Company Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and that needed resources are available and maintained in good condition, if applicable.
Required Qualifications
Education
Minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent is required.
Experience
Previous manufacturing experience with multifunctional knowledge across various production areas.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and production processes.
Ability to deliver training and qualify to Train the Trainer
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including:
Word
Excel
PowerPoint
Professional Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively facilitate training sessions.
Strong organizational, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage, develop, and train adult learners in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work occasional flexible schedules to support training delivery and operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
2 to 4 years of relevant working experience in a training-related role.
Experience delivering manufacturing, operational, technical, or compliance-related training programs.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Experience utilizing Training Within Industry (TWI) methodologies.
Experience developing or maintaining training curricula, qualification programs, or instructional materials.
Additional Information
Must be able to work flexible schedules as needed to accommodate business, training, and delivery requirements.
Responsible for supporting training initiatives that drive employee development, operational excellence, and compliance.
Must maintain compliance with all applicable quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements.
