Join a team of experts dedicated to shaping the future of insurance pricing through the commercialization of innovation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies. As Manager, Modeling & Best Practices, you will lead a highly skilled team of actuarial and data science professionals responsible for transforming research, predictive modeling, and analytical innovation into scalable business capabilities. You will play a critical role in connecting research, actuarial science, technology, and ratemaking functions across the organization to accelerate the adoption of next-generation pricing solutions. This role requires a leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for developing people. You are recognized for your ability to build engaged, high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and create an environment where technical talent can thrive. You combine strong people leadership with hands-on knowledge of actuarial science, predictive modeling, data engineering, and cloud-based analytics platforms. Working across regions and lines of business, including Personal and Commercial Insurance, Auto, and Property & Casualty, you will help define the strategic direction of modeling capabilities, data infrastructure, and analytical best practices while ensuring successful delivery of business outcomes. Success in this role requires curiosity, strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions that create measurable value for the organization. More specifically, you will be responsible to:
Lead and develop a high-performing team of actuarial and data science professionals, fostering an engaging culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
Drive the commercialization of advanced analytics and research initiatives, partnering across actuarial, underwriting, distribution, and technology teams to bring innovative pricing capabilities from concept to production.
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction in predictive modeling, actuarial analytics, data science, and data infrastructure, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.
Oversee the development and delivery of analytical capabilities, including Azure-based data and modeling pipelines, model governance, performance monitoring, and operational readiness.
Serve as a key business partner and Agile leader, aligning stakeholders, prioritizing work, and translating complex technical concepts into actionable business outcomes.

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree actuarial science or in a related field
A minimum of nine years of relevant experience, including five years leading technical or business-oriented teams
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Technical experience in actuarial science or data science
Experience managing teams remotely and availability for approximately two trips per year to Toronto/Mississauga for candidates in Quebec
Experience supporting actuarial pricing, segmentation, predictive modeling, or insurance analytics initiatives
Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, DevOps, and Git
Advanced proficiency in French, both spoken and written
Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Proficiency in one or more analytical programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS
Knowledge of modern data architecture, data engineering, and analytical solution design
