Frencken Mechatronics is involved in the development and assembly of industrial systems or the semiconductor industry, the healthcare market, and a wide range of analytical applications. The high-quality precision mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems are assembled in both clean room and non-clean room environments. As a service provider, Frencken Mechatronics also produces high-quality precision components and modules for leading clients in the high-tech industry.
We are seeking a motivated individual with strong interest in Technical and manufacturing aspects to grow and support in engineering activities, with a focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM), costing.
The successful candidate will assist engineers with day-to-day technical matters, review and document technical information, and progressively develop their technical expertise to take on more challenging and complex products and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DFM reviews to assess product manufacturability, process feasibility, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and review product costing and cost roll-ups for NPI and ECO changes.
- Evaluate the cost impact of design, material, and manufacturing process changes.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing routes for accuracy, manufacturability, and cost.
- Work closely with engineers to resolve technical issues and drive cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
- Support NPI activities and continuously develop technical knowledge in DFM, costing, and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering or related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and surface treatments.
- Able to interpret technical drawings.
- Exposure to SolidWorks/CAD/CAM software.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and costing skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with NPI, ECO, DFM, and manufacturing costing.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on new technical challenges.
