Job Description
The QA Nuclear Manager is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality assurance programs supporting nuclear projects and services. The role serves as the Nuclear Quality Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring compliance with ASME NQA-1 requirements, client-specific nuclear quality requirements, applicable regulatory commitments, and company management systems.
The position provides independent quality oversight of project activities, engineering deliverables, supplier and subcontractor quality activities, audits, corrective action programs, records management, and quality assurance processes. The QA Nuclear Manager works closely with project teams, technical staff, subcontractors, and clients to promote a culture of quality, nuclear safety, and continuous improvement while ensuring that quality requirements are effectively integrated into project execution.
Job Responsibilities:

- Maintain and oversee implementation of the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in accordance with ASME NQA-1 and client-specific quality requirements.
- Ensure project and operational activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Provide independent quality oversight of engineering, consulting, field, and supplier activities supporting nuclear projects.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and recommend corrective and preventative actions to improve quality program effectiveness.
- Review project quality plans, procedures, engineering deliverables, procurement documents, and records for compliance with NQA-1 requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of document control, records retention, nonconformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
- Support supplier qualification, supplier oversight, and procurement quality activities as required.
- Represent the Nuclear quality function in client, project, and internal meetings as required
- Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits, supplier audits, surveillances, and assessments in accordance with applicable NQA-1 requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the commercial nuclear power, DOE nuclear, nuclear engineering, or related regulated industry environment.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience implementing, managing, auditing, or overseeing Nuclear Quality Assurance programs compliant with ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent nuclear audit qualification preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management standards.
- Demonstrated experience conducting quality audits, supplier assessments, corrective action investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Experience supporting engineering, design, procurement, construction, testing, or consulting activities performed under NQA-1 quality requirements.
- Thorough understanding of nuclear quality documentation, records management, configuration management, and quality program implementation
- Possess strong working knowledge of computers and are fluent in a variety of software applications.
- Currently hold a valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Possesses or be able to obtain valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.
