Position Summary
A Joint Interest Billing (“JIB”) accountant is needed within the JIB/AR group to support the Accounting Department. This person would report to the Accounting Manager and is located in Downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Assist with monthly joint interest billing process
Process monthly rebills as required
Apply cash for accounts receivable payments
Resolve owner inquiries
Prepare and record journal entries related to JIB accounts as required
Prepare account reconciliations, complete JI Audit requests and maintain SOX compliance
Assist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requested

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degree
Strong analytical skills
Strong Excel skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively within all areas of the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
Oil and gas accounting experience
Experience with Enertia, OpenInvoice, and EnergyLink systems
Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to improve processes
Strong team building skills
